Obituary

Michael J. Larson, age 74, of Missoula, passed away October 26, 2020 due to complications with Lewy body dementia.

Mike, a Vietnam Veteran, was born and raised in Missoula, MT and was one of 10 children born to Robert and Madge Larson.

After honorably serving in the US Marine Corp, he returned to Missoula and married Norma Zachary in 1973.

Besides his wife Norma, he is survived by his three children and their families; Michael(Kari) Paul, Pamela(Shawn) Allen and Tim Larson and grandchildren; Zachary, Madison and Sydnee Paul and Tysen, Avery and Libby Allen.

Mike worked hard his entire life at many things like an equipment operator, mechanic and logger until his well deserved retirement. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He was a strict but loving, supportive and proud father and a cherished grandpa and “buddy” whose silliness and great stories were always looked forward to. Mike was a loyal Marine until the very end.

A military honor guard ceremony will be held in May 2021 at the Western Montana State Veteran‘s Cemetery, 1911 Tower St., Missoula, MT. Arrangement details are under the care of the Cremation and Burial Society of the Rockies. A celebration of life will follow the ceremony at a location TBA.

Hello Norma this is John and Roxi Riley. Philip just texted us and told us about Mike’s passing in October. So very sorry to hear that news. We certainly had some wonderful memories of you and Mike with Tim and Phil playing baseball and football. We are not in the Missoula area very much and did not know until just now. We want to send hugs and prayers to you and your children and let Tim know we are thinking of him. Love from the Riley family
