Hugh Lloyd Hopwood Sr. (Mike) died on April 17, 2021 at his home following a prolonged illness.
He was born March 27, 1934 in Hopwood, Pa, son of the late John R. and Ida Pearl Dennis Hopwood.
Prior to his retirement to Superior, Mr. Hopwood worked for Bitterroot Timber Industries, served as an EMT for Darby, Mt. and drove a school bus for students with special needs for Darby School District.
He was also predeceased by an infant son, one daughter, Michelle Rae Wetzsteon, three brothers, Harold, James, Glenn and Roy (Pat) and sisters, Adella (Beck) and Beulah.
Hugh is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara Hunt Hopwood; his daughter, Robin (David Nolte); sons, Hugh (Angela) Hopwood Jr., Patrick (Michelle) Hopwood, and a son-in-law, Richard Wetzseon; sister, Retha Ridley; 9 grandchildren; one great grandson, Cader Sylvester, and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cremation and Burial Society of the Rockies in Missoula.
A service of remembrance for Hugh will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Frontier Hospice.
Grandpa Hugh was especially proud of grandson Adam Wetzseon for graduating as a police officer in Portland, Oregon.
