I knew Don Habbe because I was a professor at the University during difficult times back in the day. I served on the Senate Executive Committee where we met weekly with administrators. Don sat through many difficult meetings with us. In those meetings, I discovered Don was a very kind and savvy UM administrator. He could keep a cool head even under the most difficult of circumstances. I always appreciated his thoughtful and honest responses in addressing whatever issue we asked him to consider.
After Don retired, I enjoyed talking with him when we occasionally crossed paths. Don could be counted on to greet my husband and me with a big smile and a kindly inquiry about our lives. Don helped make UM and Missoula special.
We were very sorry to learn he had passed away.
Our sincere condolences go to the entire family. MaryEllen Campbell and Dennis O'Donnell
